Usage

A water based, environmentally friendly mold release for the manufacture of molded friction composite materials such as shoes, pads and disks. Michem® Release Agent 4002 is designed for release of both metallic and ceramic part formulations with both manual and automated application systems. Residual release agent on the friction material will not interfere with bonding of the composite to the metal back plate. Michem® Release Agent 4002 provides worry-free release and surface quality.

Application Data

Dilute Michem® Release Agent 4002 with water in accordance with predetermined levels necessary to provide release. Typically, a trial starting dilution of 10 parts water to 1 part release is a good reference. Optimized dilutions can be seen as high as 40:1 to 50:1 when fully integrated. Apply via hydraulic or atomized spray ensuring an even light coat to the mold cavity. Reapply after each molded part.

Storage

Avoid contact with eyes. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Use personal protective equipment as required.
