Optimize your HP Indigo Digital Printing Press - from Start to Finish - with our DigiPrime Primer and DigiGuard Overprint Varnishes

Our HP approved primer and overprint varnishes are designed to help you produce the best looking output with your HP Indigo press.

Start with Michelman DigiPrime, and you can rest assured that what you want to put down in print, ends up looking exactly as you intended. To properly finish your job, use our DigiGuard overprint varnish to protect and enhance the visual quality of your output.

On most substrates, Indigo inks will only adhere properly with the help of a primer. Most digital printers around the world choose HP-recommended DigiPrime from Michelman.

Our DigiPrime primer improves ink receptivity, rub resistance and image quality on most types of paper and film. And as a 100% aqueous product, it is safer for operators and the environment, and does not yellow or lose its print receptivity over time.

OPVs are used to enhance appearance and protect materials printed on the HP Indigo press. Our varnishes are applied in liquid form over the print and then require some form of drying or curing. During this process, the liquid varnish hardens and then offers protection against physical and chemical damage. The varnishes can also be used to enhance appearance and create gloss, satin, or matte finishes.

We offer a number of HP recommended OPV solutions designed specifically for the Indigo press:

DigiGuard Gloss 100 and 110 are water-based overprint varnishes that feature high temperature resistance, improved gloss, and high abrasion resistance on printed materials. Ideal for treating paper, PE, PET and PP films, DigiGuard 110 is also suitable for food contact applications on flexible packaging, as it meets European and FDA food contact requirements.

Our DigiGuard UV Series cures the moment it’s exposed to ultraviolet light to form tough protective films. The UV Series offers several advantages over other varnish types. In addition to quick turn-around time because of its instantaneous curing, it is energy efficient, offers good protection against mechanical rubbing, can be used to produce extremely high gloss levels, and is solvent free. It’s available in matte, satin and gloss finishes.
