Benefits and Uses
As the amount of recycled paperboard in corrugated boxes has increased, medium enhancement has become more and more important. FibreMax® is a water-based fiber treatment that increases the strength of paper and corrugated containers without sacrificing repulpability. FibreMax® reduces the energy, handling and maintenance costs associated with corrugated, and eliminates the need for retailers to separate waxed and unwaxed boxes.
Increases stacking strength under humid conditions
Does not migrate to the doubleback liner, avoiding unsightly stains and printing problems
Eliminates the in-plant safety issues of hot wax
Enhances the strength of lower-quality fiber, or can be used for basis weight reduction
FibreMax® is used as a WIM replacement on corrugated containers for both perishable and non-perishable products.
: FibreMax® 105B is a new alternative to paraffin wax for treating medium. It is a repulpable, machine ready, fiber treatment that increases the strength of paper and corrugated containers under humid conditions. FibreMax® 105B should not interfere with gluability.
: FibreMax® 5000 is a new alternative to paraffin wax for treating medium. It is a repulpable, machine ready fiber treatment with the added benefit of water resistance. FibreMax® 5000 should not interfere with gluability.
