Adhesives and Sealants

Michelman wax emulsions are employed for a variety of reasons in pressure-sensitive adhesives:

Polyamide and paraffin offer adhesion control for peelability and seal strength.
Paraffin and microcrystalline enhance water, moisture, vapor and ozone barrier properties.
Carnauba and microcrystalline provide slip and antiblock to smooth machine operation without affecting sealability.

Low heat seal temperatures, combined with excellent adhesion properties, make Michem®Prime dispersions good choices for a variety of laminate/heat seal applications. Common uses include laminating adhesives for paper, foil and film, and heat seal adhesives for skin packaging and medical packaging.
