Adhesives and Sealants

Michelman wax emulsions are employed for a variety of reasons in pressure-sensitive adhesives:

  • Polyamide and paraffin offer adhesion control for peelability and seal strength.
  • Paraffin and microcrystalline enhance water, moisture, vapor and ozone barrier properties.
  • Carnauba and microcrystalline provide slip and antiblock to smooth machine operation without affecting sealability.

Low heat seal temperatures, combined with excellent adhesion properties, make Michem®Prime dispersions good choices for a variety of laminate/heat seal applications. Common uses include laminating adhesives for paper, foil and film, and heat seal adhesives for skin packaging and medical packaging.
