Michem® Flex HS-series heat seal coatings are water-based, often primerless, and balance low initiation temperatures with high ultimate bond strength. Owing to our continuous innovation of the product line, a broad range of products are available to suit various application requirements.

Michem® Prime 4983R

(Ethylene acrylic acid dispersion)

Provides outstanding adhesion to both metallic and cellulosic substrates, and enhances the water, grease, oil and solvent resistance of coatings and adhesives. Can serve as a tie coat or primer for extrusion coatings, a foil laminate, a specialty paper coating, a paper sizing agent, a heat sealable coating, nonwoven binder and can also be used as a thermally active binder in thermal transfer release coatings.

Michem® Prime 4990R

(Ethylene acrylic acid dispersion)

Michem® Flex 4915

(Water based heat seal coating for foil and paper.)

Michem® Flex 4915 is a general purpose heat seal coating for bonding aluminum foil or paper to itself.

 

Michem® Flex HS 268

(Water based dispersion of high molecular weight polyolefin)

Used for heat sealing or dry bond lamination applications, offering low temperature seal initiation and stronger bonds to paper, metal (foil or metalized surface), various primed films such as matt, pearlized cavitated BOPP or BOPET films. It should be used with the addition of a wax emulsion to control the coefficient of friction (typically 2 to 4% by weight) e.g. Michem® Lube 160 RPH.

Michem® Flex HS777

(Formulated ethylene copolymer dispersion)

Michem® Flex HS777 is heat sealable and adheres to paper. It will then function as a heat seal to polyolefin surfaces and paper.

   

Michem® Flex P1853R

(Water based primer for extrusion coated resins and treated film substrates.)

Promotes excellent adhesion to extrusion coated resins for metal and paper substrates, resulting in exceptionally high bond strength with good water resistance.

 

Michem® Flex P1883

(Water based heat seal coating and primer for extrusion coated resins.)

Primer for metal and paper substrates promoting good adhesion to extrusion coated resins resulting in strong bond strength as well as excellent water and chemical resistance. It may also be used as a low temperature heat seal coating for bonding aluminum foil to itself or to paper.

 

Michem® Prime 8515

(water based heat seal coating)

Michem® Prime 8515 is a low temperature heat seal coating for plastic films for flexible packaging applications. It is optimized to give high hot tack over a wide temperature range. It should be used with the addition of a carnauba wax emulsion to control the coefficient of friction (typically 2 to 4% by weight) e.g. Michem® Lube 160PFP.E.
