Hydrosize® Fiber Sizing and Binders

Our Hydrosize and FGLASS family of products includes sizing solutions designed for use in the manufacturing of glass fiber, carbon fibers and natural fiber, using chopped strand or continuous strand fiber glass. These are in turn used to manufacture composite products and components.

We also offer binders for nonwovens and textiles manufactured from materials including polypropylene, polyester, nylon and glass.

Waterborne Polyurethane Sizing

Our Hydrosize “U” Series of products are primarily waterborne polyurethane dispersions used as sizing on chopped strand or continuous strand fiber glass.

Depending on the grade, Hydrosize U Series feature:

Excellent adhesion and thermal stability
High strength and elongation to break
Good color
High modulus
Hydrolysis resistance
HAP and solvent free

Polyimide Solutions for High Performance Fiber Sizing

Our Hydrosize “HP” Series is a line of high performance sizing solutions designed specifically for high temperature and high Tg applications. Depending on the grade, they are FDA approved, and offer excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance.

Polyamide Chemistry for High Temperature Applications

Hydrosize ”PA” Series solutions are polyamide based fiber sizings formulated for high temperature resin applications where a greater degree of thermal stability is required. It is particularly effective in high performance carbon fiber sizing applications.

Features include:

Small particle size
Excellent film forming properties
Solvent, VOC and alkylphenol ethoxylate (APE) free
Select grades are compliant with the EC Directives on plastics for food applications

Hydrosize Phenoxy Resin for Chopped Fiber

Our Hydrosize Phenoxy fiber sizing solutions are waterborne dispersions formulated specifically for use on chopped fiber. They are compatible with thermoplastic and unsaturated polyester, polycarbonate, PPS and polyamide.
