ThermaGloss®
Benefits and Uses
ThermaGloss® overprint varnishes (OPVs) impart excellent gloss to preprinted linerboard. Coated linerboard passes through the corrugator without picking, softening or smearing. Superior heat resistance eliminates the need for hotplate temperature reduction. A variety of ThermaGloss® formulations are available for special needs such as high angle of skid and FDA compliance.
- Ideal for clay-coated linerboard
- Excellent gloss
- Unaffected by the heat of corrugation
- Allows normal hotplate temperatures
Typical uses include:
- Retail packaging
- POP displays
- Ink protection
ThermaGloss® 419: ThermaGloss® 419 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted linerboard while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 419 has a reduced angle of skid. ThermaGloss® 419 is not gluable.
ThermaGloss® 420: ThermaGloss® 420 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted liner board while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 420 has a reduced angle of skid. This product is not gluable.
ThermaGloss® 426: ThermaGloss® 426 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted linerboard while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 426 has a reduced angle of skid. This product performs similarly to ThermaGloss® 425 but with the added benefit of FDA compliance (see Food Contact Information). ThermaGloss® 426 is not gluable.
ThermaGloss® 460: ThermaGloss® 460 is a low odor preprint coating used for applications where printed / varnished liner must withstand the heat of corrugation process.
