CINCINNATI, OH (May 13, 2016) - Michelman is a global manufacturer of water-based barrier and functional coatings and print receptive primers used by leading paper mills around the world. The company will showcase a number of its flagship brands in booth #133 at PaperCon 2016, being held at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, OH from May 15-18, 2016. Visitors to Michelman’s booth will learn the benefits of many popular Michelman solutions including VaporCoat® and Michem® Coat barrier coatings and DigiPrime® digital press primers.
Two presentations will be given at different sessions of the conference program. Dr. Talia Collins, Senior Research Chemist, Printing & Packaging Group, will present “Optimizing Digital Printing Primers on the Size Press” taking place during the Papermaking Additives Track, session PA3 on May 17th. Collins’ presentation will focus on revised HP Indigo certification requirements for blanket life. Collins developed and presented best practices for Michelman’s patent-pending DigiPrime 1600 that meets the new HP Indigo performance criteria.
Mr. John Jacquin, Business Development Manager, Coatings Group & Mr. Steve Bassetti, Global Marketing Manager, Industrial Manufacturing Group will be presenting during the NETInc. Sessions N6 on “Performance Attributes of Wax and Polymer Emulsions in Nonwoven Applications” on May 17th. This will focus on water-based chemistry compatible with nonwoven & cellulosic fiber processing and very low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).
A tour of the Michelman Advanced Materials Collaboration Center (AMCC) will also take place at Michelman headquarters in Blue Ash, OH on May 18th hosted by Jacquin, Bassetti and Michelman Technical staff.
Michelman application specialists will be available during the show to discuss the many options and solutions available to paper mills. In addition to its broad line of existing brands, Michelman works closely with its customers to develop custom solutions.
