Position Overview

The Marketing Excellence Specialist will play a key role in improving the effectiveness, consistency, and impact of Michelman’s global marketing organization. The position will focus on defining and improving marketing processes, driving change management, developing meaningful KPIs, analyzing performance, creating dashboards and reports, and preparing clear business presentations for managers and executives.

While technical administration and programming of Salesforce CRM are not part of this role, the Marketing Excellence Specialist is expected to have strong working knowledge of Salesforce and related commercial tools in order to help drive adoption, process improvements, data quality, and business impact.

This position requires a result-oriented, innovative, enthusiastic, optimistic, team-oriented, accurate, and analytical professional who enjoys working across functions and regions, simplifying complexity, and turning data into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Excellence & Process Improvement

• Define, document, and continuously improve global marketing processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and business impact.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and IT teams to identify process improvement opportunities and drive adoption of best practices.
• Lead change management activities to ensure successful implementation of new processes, tools, and ways of working.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and marketing excellence across regions and businesses.

Performance Analytics & Business Insights

• Define meaningful KPIs and performance measures that connect marketing activities to business outcomes.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that provide actionable insights to managers and executive leadership.
• Analyze trends, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend corrective actions to enhance marketing effectiveness.
• Translate complex data into clear business recommendations and executive-level presentations.
• Partner with Sales leadership to monitor commercial effectiveness metrics and identify opportunities to improve lead conversion, opportunity management, and sales productivity.

Commercial Systems & Digital Enablement

• Act as the business subject matter expert for Salesforce CRM and related commercial tools, ensuring alignment between business processes and system capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve adoption, data quality, reporting, and user experience.
• Partner with IT and external providers to prioritize and implement business-driven enhancements.

AI & Marketing Innovation

• Explore, evaluate, and promote the use of AI-enabled tools to improve marketing effectiveness, productivity, customer engagement, and decision making.
• Identify practical applications of generative AI, analytics, automation, and emerging digital technologies to support Michelman’s commercial strategy.
• Serve as a change agent in helping the organization adopt innovative digital and AI-driven ways of working.
• Stay informed on evolving AI capabilities and translate opportunities into measurable business value.

Training, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

• Prepare and deliver impactful training sessions, workshops, webinars, and communication materials.
• Build strong relationships across functions, regions, and organizational levels to drive alignment and engagement.
• Effectively communicate insights, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business Administration, Commercial Excellence, Data Analytics, Business Process Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in marketing excellence, sales effectiveness, business process improvement, CRM-driven processes, commercial analytics, or customer journey management.
• Strong understanding of marketing and sales processes, including lead management, campaign effectiveness, pipeline support, customer journey, and performance measurement.
• Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM from a business-user and process-improvement perspective.
• Experience defining KPIs, building reports or dashboards, analyzing data, and preparing recommendations for management.
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to create clear, structured, executive-ready presentations.
• Demonstrated interest in Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify practical business applications and drive adoption.
• Experience using AI-powered tools for data analysis, content development, automation, productivity improvement, or customer engagement is highly desirable.
• Experience working in an international, multicultural, and cross-functional environment.
• Fluent English required. French and other languages are a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a B2B industrial, chemical, specialty materials, packaging, coatings, or manufacturing environment.
• Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, project management, or change management certification.
• Experience with Power BI, Salesforce reporting, marketing dashboards, or business intelligence tools.
• Experience preparing executive-level presentations and translating complex data into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience organizing trainings, webinars, workshops, or internal communication campaigns.

 

Travel and Work Arrangement

The role may include occasional travel to other Michelman locations and selected trade shows. Travel will remain limited and will be balanced with office presence and home-office working arrangements in line with applicable local guidelines.
