Michelman Continues to Ramp Up Its Capabilities in the Pacific Rim With Key Hires and Promotion

CINCINNATI, OH (August 19, 2010) – Michelman’s aggressive push to better serve its Pacific Rim customers is continuing with key hires and promotions within the company’s Asian Chemical Specialties commercial team.

Ms. Shenglan Cheng has been hired as Michelman’s newest Research Chemist. Ms. Cheng’s work will be focused on Michelman’s chemical specialty products, and she will be based in the company’s Singapore R&D laboratory. Cheng’s primary responsibilities will be to develop new products for Michelman’s broad line of surface modifiers for the Asian market, and to support specific customer application requirements. She has extensive experience in the areas of emulsification, polymerization, and product scale-up, as well as specific applications experience with adhesives, leather, and paint.

Mr. Linus Yoong, also based out of the company’s Singapore office, has been promoted to Regional Sales Manager. Yoong’s new responsibilities will include managing growth and sustainability initiatives in the region, as well as directing Territory Managers and Sales Assistants. He will play a pivotal role in the management of customer projects including product development and technical services. Yoong has almost two decades of experience in the chemical industry and was most recently a New Business Development Manager at Michelman.

Ms. Janice Ng has been hired as a new Territory Manager in the region, and will work closely with Mr.Yoong, helping customers achieve their sales and growth objectives. Ng has over 10 years of experience in chemical sales and customer management, with a focus on construction chemicals, plastics, polymers and coatings. Her impressive resume includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Melbourne.
