CINCINNATI, OH (April 17, 2015) - Michelman is a global manufacturer of water-based barrier and functional coatings and print receptive primers used by leading paper mills around the world. The company will showcase a number of its flagship brands in booth #144 at PaperCon 2015, being held at the Georgia World Congress Center from April 19-22, 2015. Visitors to Michelman’s booth will learn the benefits of many popular Michelman solutions including VaporCoat® and Michem® Coat barrier coatings and DigiPrime® digital press primer.
VaporCoat is a family of barrier coatings for paper and corrugated that lock out water, and reduce the transmission of water vapor (MVTR). They can be used for moisture retention on the interior surface of packaging, or on the exterior to prevent moisture penetration into the container. They are also used to reduce oil migration.
Michem Coat is a line of Michelman barrier coatings, selected primarily for their resistance to oil and grease. They also provide good release and are both coldset and hot melt gluable.
DigiPrime is a line of primers that improve ink receptivity and durability on a wide variety of paper and synthetic substrates printed on digital presses. They are used on commercial, label, and packaging presses.
By coupling its expertise in the development and implementation of barrier and functional coating systems with its digital printing primers, Michelman is able to help paper mills create new or unique grades of paper that help differentiate them from their competitors.
