CINCINNATI, OH (March 27, 2012) – Michelman continues its strategic commitment to the Asian region with the hiring of Mr. Steven Wong as Managing Director of Asia Pacific. Mr. Wong will be responsible for managing Michelman’s Asian strategy across all of Michelman’s industry segments in accordance with the company’s global strategy.
According to Mr. Steven Shifman, President and CEO at Michelman, “Years ago, we made a strategic commitment to creating and growing our presence in the Asian region. Over the last two years in particular, we have made great strides in adding people resources, leadership resources, global practices and investment to support our growing business in the region. The addition of Steven Wong to our team continues that trend and we feel fortunate to have added someone of his caliber.”
In his newly created position, Mr. Wong will report directly to Mr. Shifman, and will work closely with the company’s global Executive Leadership Team. He will be heavily involved with Michelman’s global supply chain, finance and commercial development teams with a focus on the Asian region.
Mr. Wong brings 11 years of experience with the Honeywell Corporation and most recently 3 years with Tennant as the Managing Director/General Manager of Asia Pacific. In his career, he has been involved in technical and commercial development, operations and general management.
He also has a broad academic background with an MBA in Marketing from the University of Leicester, in the UK, an MSc in Polymer Science & Technology from Victoria University of Manchester, Institute of Science & Technology, also in the UK, and various other academic accomplishments.
Mr. Wong is fluent in English, Mandarin, Taiwanese and Cantonese.
