CINCINNATI, OH (September 18, 2017) – – Michelman, an industry leader in primers for digital printing and coating solutions for flexible and paper packaging, will showcase a variety of technologies at the 6th International Packaging and Printing Exhibition for Asia (PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL) being held September 20-23, 2017 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
Michelman will feature primers for digital printing; OPVs for specialty applications for digital and analog printing; barrier coatings for flexible packaging; and functional coatings for paper converting.
Visitors to the show will get a first look at the company’s water-based Michem® Flex Barrier coating formulated to create an oxygen barrier on flexible packaging film and paper.
Michelman’s new oxygen barrier coating eliminates the need to use alternatives containing chlorine, or nanoparticles, while maintaining effectiveness through processing and distribution functions. It shows excellent printability and lamination bond strength, and is compliant for use in food. Formulated as a single component, ready to use coating, Michem Flex Barrier 3510 is easy to apply in-line or off-line, and without a primer. Because it requires no mixing, it exhibits excellent shelf life.
Their flexible packaging solutions include Michem® Flex P-series extrusion coating primers. These proven, water-based formulations render packaging films and papers more receptive to extruded PE and PP film. This allows for a more efficient extrusion process at lower temperatures, and with better adhesion to the substrate. Grades are available for applications ranging from basic dry and wet, to demanding retort packaging.
Also featured at the show will be Michelman’s Michem® Flex HS-series heat seal coatings that balance low initiation temperatures with high ultimate bond strength, as well as Michem Emulsion and Michem Lube, extensive families of functional coating additives that are added to water-based flexible packaging coatings to maximize the efficiency of form, fill and seal operations.
PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL attendees can find Michelman in Booth E15 September 20-23 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
