Planner, Raw Material

Primary Responsibilities

• Raw Material Planning
  • Utilize planning module in JD Edwards (JDE) to order raw materials based on manufacturers recommended price (MRP)
  • Own the planning for all packages and on-site management of trailers as per production requirements
  • Partner with the finished goods production planners to make sure they have the materials they need to execute the production schedule
  • Manage communication of raw material delivery changes with the production planner on site
• Outside repacking planning
  • Generate repacking planning and own communication with external company, provide schedule and manage internal organization to meet defined needs in term of volumes, dates, and stock levels.
• Master Data
  • Responsible for item and data setup that reflects how we order and manage material movements between facilities including outside warehousing for raw materials
  • Owner of MRP and master data for raw materials
  • Owner of setting safety stock levels to meet the on-time in full (OTIF) business targets for raw materials
• Future Forecasting
  • Develop monthly rolling 12-month raw material forecasts for procurement team by item and/or supplier using JDE and TM1
• Backup for production scheduling, as needed.

Critical Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong computer literacy skills including advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Excel knowledge
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Experience with planning and inventory control techniques
• Strong troubleshooting skills to understand requirement planning
• Customer intimacy mindset
• High levels of sense of urgency
• Ability to clearly and professionally communicate verbally or through e-mail
• Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or formal Continuous Improvement experience is a plus
• Ability to speak and write fluent in regional languages. English intermediate level is required

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in raw material or production planning in chemical companies
