We have a great opportunity for an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Intern to join Michelman at our Global Headquarters in Cincinnati, OH.  You will assist the department team to implement environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance with established policies, legal requirements and EHS certifications.  You will play an essential role in raising safety awareness and building a sustainable safety-first culture at Michelman.

Primary Responsibilities 

• Execute a specific EHS project that would support compliance at a minimum or go beyond compliance as a preferred outcome in the areas of:

  • OSHA regulations, e.g. LOTO, Hazcom, Chemical Hygiene Plan, etc,

  • EPA regulations, e.g. SPCC, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste, etc,

  • Occupational health, e.g. IH surveys, medical surveillance, etc.

• Assist the EHS department in the improvement of EHS systems, e.g. LMS, training development, etc.

Other

• Additional EHS functions, as assigned by EHS Specialist 

Critical Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient knowledge and use of standard Windows programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Ability to wear appropriate PPE and have an active presence in all US Michelman office, lab, and plant facilities

• Work within a team environment to support and achieve goals and objectives relating to EHS

• Physically able to sit/stand for extended periods of time, bend/stoop, walk, lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Education and Experience

• Progress toward a degree in an EHS field – bachelor's or master's.
