General Summary

We have a great opportunity for a Product Manager to our Marketing team at our Global Headquarters in Cincinnati, OH.  You will have the primary responsibility to drive profitable revenue growth by working closely with Marketing, Procurement, Finance, Sales and Technology to ensure product lines are profitable. You will actively coordinate cross-functional teams to review and act on profitability improvement opportunities on a regular basis, will coordinate the regional Concept-to-Commercialization Stage Gate project management with the region and groups, will play an instrumental role for new product launch and will ensure execution across multiple disciplines within the business. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Optimize product portfolio through product segmentation

• Work closely with Procurement, Regulatory and Technology to review and drive improvement actions based on raw material trends.

• Identify, plan and coordinate the Phase out of the “low touch products”, internally and externally (product rationalization)

• Manage base pricing and pricing deviations

• Review the collateral data in terms of regional consistency

• Support manufacturing to optimize asset loading

• Coordinate at the regional level the Stage Gate process and Business case pre-work; help manage the process utilizing Inspire Planner

• Support Supply Chain to reduce slow moving inventory and raw material transitions as required by supply chain issues or elimination of Substances of Concern

• Drive and support profitable revenue growth through regular profitability reviews with cross-functional teams; provide support analysis for price increase initiatives.

• Generate, monitor and improve the effectiveness of the product monitoring tools and processes

• Collaborate closely with the supply chain team to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved (SLO)

• Review and support growth opportunities and key projects for the business and articulate customer needs to the management team

• Visit Beta customers with Technology or with the Sales team prior the commercialization of new products to validate the assumptions and critical needs

• Coordinate and attend trade shows as necessary

• Support the regional launch of products

• Initiate data improvement activities and ensures proper data and opportunity management within the CRM tool, including competitive intelligence

• Assist with PowerPoint and presentation development as needed

• May be called upon to lead crisis management teams

• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to competently interact with associates from other departments at all levels within and external to the company; Excellent business communication skills, both written and oral are a must

• Detail oriented and self-starter with strong written and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

• Team player with positive “Can-do” attitude

• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and conceptual thinking skills

• Excellent presentation and data skills as well as experience with business software applications

• Advanced and in-depth knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and graphs, as well as PowerPoint. Computer literate and proficient in standard office application Word, Outlook, etc. 

• Experience with Salesforce.com preferred.

• Experience working with databases and retrieving/analyzing information from disparate financial information systems

• Demonstrated time-management and multi-tasking skills coupled with a keen ability to prioritize assignments

Process Creation and Documentation

• Document product management processes and workflows

• Create new processes and associated reporting

• Develop process documentation and value-stream maps

Report and Dashboard Creation

• Create and maintain product dashboards

Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering or related technical field

• Strong chemistry knowledge

• 5-10 years of applicable experience

• Demonstrated experience in the application of analytical methods of addressing business issues, with an emphasis on decision support analysis

• Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations

• A track record of following through on commitments

• Some manufacturing experience preferred

• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills

• A history of leading and supporting successful projects

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to travel by car and plane to visit regional base of customers (target 20%)

• Able to work flexible hours occasionally

• Part time expectation to work in Headquarters building in Cincinnati
