Michelman is closely monitoring the evolving situation with the worldwide Covid-19 outbreak. With the outbreak now reaching over 100,000 cases in more than 100 countries, we continue to communicate with our supply chain partners to ensure uninterrupted supply, and with our operations to take all steps necessary to prevent any impact to our customers.
We source very few products from any of the identified global hot spots. As such, we have been assured by suppliers that all is working per usual. And, while we recognize that there are growing concerns with the availability of ocean freight, we have not had any issues to date.
While this is the current status, we know that the situation is fluid. As a result, we have taken steps to increase inventories of critical materials globally to address any potential challenges. Also, we are continuing to qualify products across our facilities so that we are not dependent upon any single location to serve our customers. Further, we have developed processes within each of our locations to limit visitors and to monitor those few who need to come on-site for any reason. We have also implemented additional sanitation activities at our locations and developed plans to segregate teams of employees in the event the outbreak reaches any of the locations in which we operate.
At this time, there are no known future supply issues; however, should any arise, we will work diligently to find solutions, maintain our customers’ trust, and provide updates as conditions warrant.
