Extrusion Coating Primers

Michem® Flex P-series primers render packaging films and papers more receptive to extruded PE and PP film, thus the extrusion process is more efficient at lower temperatures, and the extrudate has better adhesion to the substrate. Available primer grades are optimized for applications ranging from very demanding retort packages to more basic end uses.

Formulated Coatings for Extrusion Coating Primers adhesion for film adhesion for metal and paper chemical resistance water resistance

Michem® Flex P1309

(Water-based primer for polyethylene extrusion and anchor coating)

A primer for film, metalized film, printed film and paper substrates promoting excellent adhesion to extrusion coated resins, resulting in high bond strength for dry and low moisture content products. Michem Flex P1309 creates very strong adhesion between treated film and PE and EVA extrudates.

Michem® Flex P1852

(Water based primer for liquids and extrusion coated resins.)

Promotes superior adhesion to extrusion coated resins for film, metal and paper substrates. This product exhibits weatherability, water and chemical resistance to many aggressive package contents such as water, oils, flavors and fragrances. This product is also suitable for resins extruded at low temperatures.

Michem® Flex P1853R

(Water-based primer and heat seal coating for extrusion coated resins and treated film substrates)
